ONLINE SUMMER CAMP - Grades 1 to 5

GRADE 1-2 

LITTLE HANDS WRITING BOOT CAMP

Writing is a skill that students will need throughout their academic careers. Building this important skill with “Little Hands” helps them start at an early age to organize their thinking, express their understanding and communicate their ideas. Students will have the opportunity to learn four different forms of writing over the two camps. Students in this camp will also explore visual literacy prompts through short, animated films to encourage meaningful discussions on various topics.


CAMP 1 - July 5 to 16 @ 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM
8 spots 

Week 1 will focus on Non-Fiction writing, where students will learn about introduction, text features, table of contents, headings, important facts, and much more. Week 2 will focus on Personal Narratives, where students will learn to write about something they experienced by using talking words, flavour words, a hook, using five senses, details, and much more. 


CAMP 2 - July 19 to 30 @ 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM
8 spots 

Week 1 will focus on Realistic Fiction writing, where students will learn about settings, characters, problems, solutions, dialogue, and much more. Week 2 will focus on Opinion Writing, where students will learn what an opinion is, supporting ideas with reasoning, persuasion, and much more. 



GRADE 3-5

LEARN AND EARN FINANCIAL LITERACY AND LANGUAGE ARTS CAMP  

Financial literacy is a fundamental skill for students. The new math curriculum introduced in 2020 has made Financial Literacy a separate strand. Each camp will create different real-world challenges where students will collaborate, problem-solve, critically think, present, build communication skills and gain an understanding of business development.


CAMP 1 - July 5 to 16 @ 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM
12 spots 

This camp will focus on the importance of location, advertising, developing strong plans, saving, investing, learning from mistakes, debt, decision making, responsibility, setting goals, partnerships, customer service, and lifelong learning through rich, meaningful learning tasks.


CAMP 2 - July 19 to 30 @ 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM
12 spots 

This camp will focus on listening skills, supply and demand, price and value, going the extra mile, learning from failure, getting a mentor, being open-minded, first impressions, reasoning, domino effects, thinking of new ways of doing things, not to prejudge, and creating a good reputation through rich, meaningful learning tasks.  


Camp Fees:

Each camp runs for 2 weeks. The tuition is $300 per camp.
